Course Duration
Course Description
This course is designed to train rescue personnel in the safe and effective integration of heavy rotators during complex vehicle and equipment extrication incidents. Instruction begins with a 1–2 hour classroom session led by a qualified rotator operator, providing an overview of rotator capabilities, operational considerations, safety zones, and rigging concepts specific to heavy recovery equipment.
Following the classroom portion, students participate in hands-on training, including a detailed walk-around of the rotator and live demonstrations of operational functions. Students will then work through progressive, scenario-based evolutions requiring them to assess the incident, develop a coordinated action plan, and communicate effectively with the rotator operator to stabilize loads, control movement, and facilitate patient access and extrication.
